"The breeze, the trees, the honey bees - All volunteers!"
- Juliet Carineap
Summer is officially here! This season holds a sense of
freedom and fun for me; a time of leisure and play which is
reflected in my family’s day to day activities. With two young
children, we find ourselves enjoying all that Santa Barbara has to
offer…the beach, the zoo, the library, parks, parades, festivals,
and everything else under the summer sun! I hope your own
summer traditions create lifelong memories for you and your
family, too.
It is such a pleasure being part of the Unity family. Working with
the staff and volunteers has been a rewarding experience for me.
Every Sunday I look forward to being part of the cooperative spirit
that creates such a sacred space for the Santa Barbara community.
It’s surprising to discover how many volunteers it takes to support
our work at Unity. It requires a team of volunteers to ensure that
each Sunday service comes together seamlessly. Offering food
and coffee helps to generate a strong sense of community and a
chance to get to know one another. Every person is essential to
the success of our programs, and thankfully, we are never short
of helping hands! How blessed we are!
There are so many volunteer opportunities at Unity, including
gardening, photography, office and bookstore work, caring cuisine,
handy work and many other possibilities. To celebrate the spirit
of service, future issues of our Unity Contact Newsletter will
highlight the efforts of the extraordinary individuals who offer
their time and love. A big thank you to all of you who work together
to make Unity a nurturing place to be.
Of course, we always have lots of space to expand our giving
community, and we welcome new faces at anytime! To find out
how you can help, please call me at 729.0385.
With gratitude,
