Global Prayer and Candlelighting Service - 7:00 P.M.
Unity’s World Day of Prayer is an annual celebration to affirm peace, abundance and love on an individual and global level. This year’s theme is “Living in the Flow.” United in prayer, we will affirm:
We are living expressions of DIVINE LIGHT flowing forth into the world.
Seventeen years ago, Unity created World Day of Prayer—held the second Thursday in September—as a global effort to uplift ourselves…our loved ones…our world in a shared prayer consciousness. Since that time, more than 15 million people have received prayer support through this sacred initiative. World Day of Prayer 2010 is especially meaningful because it coincides with Silent Unity’s 120th Anniversary.
This year’s event is Thursday, September 9, and the theme, “Living in the Flow,” reminds us that the Divine is within us, everywhere present and active.
You can be a part of this sacred day—in several ways:
- Set aside a few moments for silent prayer in our sanctuary between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M.
- Attend our World Day of Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M.

By returning your list to our office – we will mail all prayer requests to Silent Unity on September 3. The names on your list will join thousands of other names spoken during a 24-hour prayer vigil in the Silent Unity Chapel and will continue to be held in prayer for the 30 days following.

One Life at a Time is the definitive story of the evolvement of an American spiritual seeker whose journey to India brought him to his Guru, Neem Karoli Baba. Produced and directed by Michael Drumm, this multi-faceted documentary presents Krishna Das in a live performance of Kirtan (chant) filmed in Los Angeles in 2004 and features interviews covering a two year period during which Krishna Das details his history, shares stories of his personal contact with his Guru and explains his transformation into what the New York Times has called the 'Chant master of American Yoga.'
Also included is amazing rare archival footage of Neem Karoli Baba as well as fascinating exchanges with his friend and mentor Ram Dass (formerly Dr. Richard Alpert) and his music producer Rick Rubin. Also featured are full- length chants from the live concert in Los Angeles. Includes the David Silver documentary The Yoga of Chant, featuring full length concert footage of Krishna Das in performance at Jiva Mukti Yoga in New York and his discussions of the power of chant and its effectiveness as a daily practice.
